Niki Duncan has been an alt rock Americana singer songwriter for over 15 years with two original full length recordings to her credit.

Jazz has proven to be Niki’s niche. In 2004, on the urging of fellow musicians, Niki started covering a few jazz tunes in her live shows and received an overwhelming response to these additions.

Niki has spent the last several years immersing herself in the study of the masters and classics, honing her unique vocal talents against the likes of such greats as Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn and Nina Simone. Through the course of her studies Niki has found an unshakeable center in the medium. Her voice fits it like a silky black dinner glove. Sometimes soaring sweetly, sometimes purring, sometimes guttural and profound but always seemingly effortless.

Obviously the study of jazz is lifelong and can be infinitely interpreted but from her humble beginnings Niki has taken off with a selection of her favorite standards for her up and coming new release. In the recording of this record Niki ventures into the vast and beautiful world of jazz, showing off her unique vocal talents on some of the finest arrangements of our most loved standards.

Niki has fallen head over heels for this classic American art form. She has a particular flair for the torch ballad but she never limits herself to any one style. She performs everything from classic standards to western swing to contemporary soul and rhythm and blues.
